Titanium anode for electrolytic copper foil

23 Mar.,2024

Iridium-tantalum coated titanium anodes are often used for electrolysis of copper foils,At present, there are two types of processing types of foil machines for anode plates on the market, one is Mosaic (1mm plum hole) and the other is back pull (6mmFIP).

According to the original process, the electrolytic copper foil industry generally uses lead anode, because the lead anode electrode potential is high, and the energy consumption is large. Under high current density operation, the solution falls off, resulting in irregular surface morphology. The result is uneven deposition of copper foil during electrolysis. However, the noble metal coated titanium anode has low oxidation overpotential and is insoluble, which can ensure the stability of spacing in the process of electrolyzing copper foil. It can ensure the uniformity of electrolytic copper foil products, and the electrolytic efficiency is high and the energy consumption is low.

*Technical parameters of copper foil titanium anode:

At present, there are two types of processing types of foil machines for anode plates on the market, one is Mosaic (1mm plum hole) and the other is back pull (6mmFIP).

Copper foil titanium anode working conditions:

1, electrolyte: Cu2+ > 120g/L   H2SO4> 150g/L

2, use temperature: < 60 degree

3, use current density: 5000-8000A/m²

4, electrolyte chloride ion content: < 70ppm

5. Organic matter content in electrolyte: < 25ppm

6. Pb2+ < 35ppm in the electrolyte

*Technical parameters and product advantages of coated titanium anodes produced by Giant Metal:

1.Base material: Gr1 titanium

2.Uniformity: the use of sandblasting and acid etching, followed by ultrasonic cleaning.

3.Coating structure:TA1+ composite intermediate layer + nano-coated iridium tantalum mixture

4.Electrocatalytic activity: increase the actual catalytic area of the coating by increasing the microscopic roughness of the titanium substrate. Add some base metal oxides to adjust the electrochemical performance of the electrode itself. Lower tank voltage, save energy.

5.Processing: Mosaic and back pull (arc plate)

6. Current density: < 10000A/m²

7.Service life: 40000KAH/m2 (or 8 months), through the special sintering process, reduce and restrain the surface of the coating cracks, inhibit the erosion of solution oxygen, slow down the formation of TiO2 passivation film. Extended anode life.

8.Recoating of the anode plate: at the same time, the biggest advantage of the titanium anode plate can be repeated coating (mainly for 6mm back-pull FIP anode plate) when the life ends, the surface removal coating technology developed by our company only needs to return to the factory to clean the surface and continue to coat the precious metal oxide, and its service life can be the same as the life of the new anode plate.
