Hey guys, I just recently picked blacksmithing up as a hobby. And I can't get forging copper out of my mind.
I have tons of copper pipe laying around and I was thinking of heating it fluxing it and forge welding a pipe into a flat piece and making knives out of it.
Purely for decoration and fun.
Have any of you guys forged copper? Or know of anywhere I can research it?
Anything I try and look up just takes to to gaming websites for WoW or GW2 et al.
I was also thinking I'd have to maybe make a crucible of some sort and melt the copper down into a bar to be able to hammer it out. But I have no idea what temperatures to aim for.
Any help would be appreciated.
