InnaLabs Introduces New Radiation Hardened Quartz Accelerometer for Space Applications

13 Jul.,2023

InnaLabs, a high-technology SME company renowned for space, aerospace, land, marine, and emerging technology markets with products such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and systems has introduced a new Quartz Accelerometer for space applications.

AQUILA is a radiation-hardened Hi-Rel Accelerometer that is based on InnaLab's successful Quartz Pendulum accelerometer products and heritage. As Europe’s first designed and manufactured space-grade accelerometer, AQUILA provides high performance in a space environment with radiations and single events.

The accelerometer has an input range of +/- 25g and a bias of less than 4 mg. It is radiation-hardened up to 50 krad and has a resolution of less than 1μg. AQUILA has a one-year bias composite repeatability of less than 80 μg and an axis misalignment of 2,000 µrad. It features a compact, rugged design and has high stability under temperature changes.

AQUILA is based on Quartz Pendulum accelerometer technology, which is well established for its high performance and uses in space applications. AQUILA features an internal temperature sensor that allows the user to carry out temperature calibration and compensation, enhancing the bias, scale factor, and axis misalignment performance over temperature.

The primary applications of AQUILA are Navigation, Delta-V monitoring, Fault Detection Isolation and Recovery (FDIR), and Momentum and Vibration monitoring onboard satellites and spacecraft. AQUILA can also be used in land and aerospace applications where high-performance or radiation tolerance is required.
