Why become a control engineer?

07 Dec.,2023

Is it possible to land a controls engineer job with a Associates Degree in industrial electricity? I’m currently doing a maintenance technician apprenticeship. Most of the classes I’ve had are programming classes. I work with Siemens but am currently trying to learn AB as well. I had AB classes in school but that was a few years ago so I’m learning it from Udemy.

Is there a certain route any of you would suggest? As in going to be a PLC tech first?

I would like to travel and my worry is that I would get pigeonholed and not learn as much as I need to know to further my career.

Is there anything I should make sure I learn before I try apply for jobs?

Something went wrong. Wait a moment and try again.
