Chopped Strand Mat is a type of non-woven fiberglass fabric. It is made of randomly distributed chopped strands, held together with a powder or emulsion polyester binder, and provides equal strength in all directions.
Chopped Strand Mats can be used with polyester resin to quickly build thickness for forming parts and between layers of woven fabric for building molds. Because of its random fiber orientation, chopped strand mat conforms easily to complex shapes when wet-out with polyester or vinyl ester resins. It can be used as a means of reinforcing or machining FRP moldings in the production of most construction products.
Applications:
These mats are typically available in 300g or 450g, but we are also capable of producing chopped strand mat to meet the versatility of your specific products and projects, typically within a range of 100g to 900g per square meter.
