Morris, MN — Superior Industries, Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of conveyor systems and their related components, says it manufactures the highest capacity telescoping radial stacker on the planet. Measuring 72-inches wide by 190-feet long, the high capacity TeleStacker® Conveyor can stockpile aggregates and other bulk material at rates up to 5,000 tons per hour.
Since building its first telescopic radial stacker in 1997, Superior has since designed and built 1,000 more units to become the leading builder of telescoping stackers in the world. The innovate units are working on six of the world’s seven continents, building high capacity stockpiles and improving operating costs at ports and terminal facilities.
Robust Undercarriage Support
During initial design of the first high capacity units, Superior engineers developed a new, more durable undercarriage support system to keep the stacker stable and crews safe. Known as the FB® Undercarriage, this patented, robust support system is simply designed with more steel for rock-solid bracing at the stacker’s most crucial points of stress.
Speaking more technically, this upgraded undercarriage support results in 17-times less structural deflection when compared to competitor units. The engineering term is defined as the degree to which a structural element — in this case a conveyor — shifts under a load. Superior standardized this undercarriage design to all of its TeleStacker Conveyors large or small.
Heavier Duty Support Rollers
Another patented innovation are heavy duty support rollers, designed to safely guide and support the internal stinger conveyor as it travels in and out of the main frame. The rollers are designed to be load equalizing, each carrying an even amount of weight. This eliminates excessive and unsafe stress on each single roller.
Designing telescopic conveyors with these heavy-duty support rollers is another step to a safer, longer-lasting machine.
