Advantages and Disadvantages of Extrusion Blow Molding

10 Nov.,2023

1. Lower cost
Compare with stretch blow molding, extrusion blow molding only needs low-pressure air and not need preform which makes total cost cheaper. Because of lower pressure, the mold costs and auxiliary cost(compressor....ect) in extrusion blow molding are lower as compared to injection blow molding and the machinery costs are low as well.

2. Variety of Products
The commonness of blow molding has allowed engineers to try and create a variety of applications and designs, which resulted to multiple interesting uses. Just to mention a few, the products created using this technology are fuel tanks, baby seat, medical bed, and toy.

3. High productivity and quality
The automation technology has used with plastic production. it has allowed for a production cycle that is much faster to increase production capabilities. And automatically recycle the flash without waste. Then check bottles or products automatically to ensure the the qualities.

4. Flexibility
An Extrusion Blow Molding Machine can produce a variety of products used by food and beverage, medical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and other industries. For product family, it can only change a part of mold to get different volume or different appearance products. If the weight or thickness have to be modified, only operate the parison controller can be done. It is no need to modify the mold. The ability to produce products for diverse applications makes the process highly advantageous to others.
