Preparation

The first thing you need to do is take a close look at the nozzle and see how bad it is. You may eventually need to replace it.
However, clean it first. Place the nozzle in a metal container and put enough kerosene in it to cover it. Once you've done that, get your stove nozzle.
Make sure your stove is completely off, as this can be very dangerous for a running stove.

Remove the nozzle

Your fuel gun will be equipped with a fuel nozzle. Simply remove the nozzle; this can usually be done manually by simply twisting it free. If you have problems removing it, try using pliers. Be careful with these pliers, as they may end up damaging your nozzle.

Soaking

Place the nozzle in a container filled with kerosene. The nozzle itself needs to sit for about half an hour to ensure that all soot and debris is removed. After removing the nozzle from the kerosene, take out a rag and wipe it clean.
If there still seems to be any debris hanging on, use a can of compressed air to blow it off.

Remove the filter

Before putting the nozzle back in place, you will need to remove the filter on the end of the nozzle. There is a brass screw pin that you will need to remove in order to see if there are any clogs in the steel orifice disc.
As long as everything looks clean and tidy, you can put them back together.

When to replace

If you have cleaned the nozzle and inspected its interior and it appears to be clogged, then you simply need to replace it.
You can usually find these nozzles at any home improvement store for less than $10. It's a good idea to keep one handy in case you end up needing to replace it after cleaning.
